Requirements

  • Have 4 to 5+ years of solutions engineering experience in a relevant market or a similar senior-level development role.
  • Have strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Have experience with eCommerce and CMS platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress.
  • Have experience with solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstrations.
  • Be able to deliver consultative presentations to C-level business executives.
  • Be able to hold detailed technical discussions with technical audiences.
  • Have experience with commerce solutions such as POS systems, product catalogs, order management, ERP systems, and payment gateways.
  • Preferred: sales methodology or solution-selling training.
  • Preferred: pre-sales consulting for web design, web development, eCommerce, or digital agency services.
  • Preferred: responding to RFPs or technical proposals and creating technical documentation or thought leadership content.
  • Preferred: high-complexity front-end or back-end development, third-party integrations, APIs, ERP systems, payment gateways, or custom commerce solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Educate prospects on eCommerce and CMS platforms, including BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress.
  • Provide recommendations based on business goals, technical requirements, analytics, and client needs.
  • Conduct needs analyses and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers.
  • Gather, document, and organize project requirements and scope details.
  • Provide pre-sales technical consulting to the Sales team through demonstrations, calls, and site visits with project managers.
  • Work with the Sales team on proposals and RFP responses, ensuring recommendations address client requirements.
  • Coordinate with third-party partners or solutions when custom solutions are needed.
  • Support project discovery, internal planning, recurring solutions, and UX considerations during scoping.
  • Provide emergency development support for key clients and major accounts.
