Requirements
- Have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience using programming languages and frameworks.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent work experience.
- Have experience developing web applications and working with content management systems such as WordPress, Strapi, or Contentful.
- Understand designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.
- Be proficient with version control systems and collaborative development workflows such as Git.
- Know performance optimization techniques, caching mechanisms, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
- Have experience with performance tuning, memory optimization, and related diagnostic tools.
- Be proficient with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Understand software architecture, system design, scalability, and reliability principles.
- Have experience improving team efficiency or output quality through strategic use of AI tools and automation.
- Be prepared to learn Ruby, the company’s primary technology stack.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, high-quality software solutions for complex business and technical requirements.
- Lead technical architecture and design decisions for high-impact initiatives across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define technical requirements, tradeoffs, and implementation approaches.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that reinforces engineering best practices.
- Conduct code and design reviews and provide actionable technical guidance to engineering peers.
- Troubleshoot complex software issues and drive solutions through root-cause analysis and systematic problem solving.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, architectural patterns, and reusable engineering standards.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend approaches to improve engineering quality, efficiency, or scalability.
- Mentor and support engineers by sharing technical expertise.
