SalaryUS base salary range: New York City + California Salary Range $107,400 — $134,300 USD; San Francisco Salary Range $114,200 — $142,700 USD; US National Salary Range $100,300 — $125,400 USD. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity).

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Experience with API design.
- Experience with automated testing, code review, and documentation.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
- Experience maintaining peer-reviewed code and continuous integration and deployment workflows and tooling such as GitLab CI and Docker, or similar.
- Proficient Linux skills.
- Ability to work independently to solve problems in a dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP is a plus.
- Experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, Terraform, monitoring tools, or microservice environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and augment automation and services responsible for operating Planet’s satellites.
- Specify and implement new HTTP APIs and improve existing APIs.
- Evaluate and choose appropriate software technologies.
- Design and deploy critical infrastructure.
- Work with end users to iterate on satellite operations systems.
- Collaborate with Satellite and Ground Operations, Pipeline, and Product teams.
