Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 2 years of public accounting experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing business tax returns.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, tax law, and tax processes.
- Familiarity with financial statement procedures and distinguishing material from immaterial items.
- Familiarity with GAAP and knowledge of review, compilation, and auditing standards.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and analyze client data.
- Ability to delegate, supervise, and review the work of less experienced staff.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and client needs.
- Strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Prepare advanced tax computations, workpapers, and tax entries.
- Prepare complex individual, partnership, multistate, corporate, and other income tax returns.
- Review individual, partnership, multistate, corporate, and other tax returns.
- Assist with year-end planning and quarterly tax estimates.
- Address IRS or state taxing authority notices and coordinate timely responses.
- Coordinate, plan, and schedule workflow for effective engagement management.
- Organize client income tax data for accurate and timely completion.
- Review and assist in researching technical issues and verify client financial matters.
- Initiate and manage client communication with staff or a Partner.
- Identify tax planning ideas and collaborate across departments to resolve client matters.
