Requirements
- Have an advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience.
- MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, or an advanced practice degree (NP, PA, RPh, or MSN/RN with oncology experience) is strongly preferred.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrate mastery in presenting clinical and scientific information.
- Have expert-level proficiency with Veeva CRM or a comparable customer relationship management tool, Adobe Professional, and Microsoft Office.
- Be able to understand, review, and communicate complex technical concepts and technologies.
- Have working knowledge of OIG compliance guidance for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Be able to travel occasionally, including overnight stays, as business needs require.
- Live within the territory served by the role.
- Hold a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Be able to work East Coast hours.
- Rare disease experience, particularly in oncology and/or neurosciences, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify key opinion leaders and establish and maintain scientific relationships across specialties, academic centers, and community practices.
- Serve as a scientific expert to the medical community and facilitate appropriate exchanges of scientific information.
- Communicate expert feedback on new data and clinical trends to Medical Affairs and translate it into strategic recommendations.
- Act as the primary liaison to investigators interested in investigator-initiated research.
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations to identify trial sites, support clinical trial awareness, and interact with investigators in ongoing studies.
- Provide scientific support at medical congresses, advisory boards, and scientific and medical advisory programs.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with local, regional, and national strategy.
- Lead health economic and outcomes data strategy and present relevant data to payer audiences.
- Mentor new or less-experienced MSLs and lead projects supporting MSL strategies.
- Contribute to medical strategy, training curricula, onboarding, and national KOL engagement planning.
