Requirements
- Have 5+ years of technical writing experience for software products serving technical buyers.
- Have at least 2 years documenting APIs, integrations, infrastructure, or related technical products.
- Have strong docs-as-code experience with Git, Markdown, and a static documentation framework such as Docusaurus, MkDocs, or Mintlify, or an equivalent platform.
- Be able to read and understand code and API specifications well enough to produce accurate documentation and identify discrepancies.
- Provide a technical writing portfolio demonstrating clear, precise explanations of complex systems for practitioners.
- Have strong interviewing and information-gathering skills to obtain complete and accurate technical details from engineers and product managers.
- Demonstrate editorial judgment in deciding what information is essential for the intended audience.
- Have experience owning documentation systems end to end, including information architecture, content strategy, publishing, and maintenance.
- Cybersecurity or security operations experience, particularly familiarity with SIEM, EDR, identity, or cloud security data sources, is preferred.
- Experience documenting AI or machine learning products and familiarity with documentation analytics, support-ticket data, or structured authoring are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Own the customer documentation platform, including information architecture, authoring workflows, reviews, publishing, search, and maintenance.
- Create and maintain integration guides for supported data and alert sources.
- Develop administration and governance documentation covering tenant management, access controls, API keys, audit trails, and response-action authorization.
- Own API reference and developer-facing documentation, collaborating with engineering on generated content where appropriate.
- Produce customer-facing release notes explaining changes, impact, intended users, and known limitations.
- Document AI-assisted workflows, including investigation structure, evidence, uncertainty, and system limitations.
- Partner with customer success and support to identify and address documentation gaps.
- Establish and maintain a documentation style guide and docs-as-code workflow.
- Work with engineers and product managers during feature development to clarify technical details and accurately document product behavior.
- Evaluate documentation effectiveness using feedback, support data, and other metrics.
