Requirements
- Build and ship production systems with Go as a primary language.
- Have working knowledge of the Kubernetes API server, admission control, RBAC, controllers, and kubelet.
- Bring hands-on experience with Kubernetes attack surfaces, including container breakout, privilege escalation, RBAC, and policy best practices.
- Have experience threat-modeling and reviewing designs for production systems.
- Explain security risks clearly to other engineers.
- Have experience investigating and fixing vulnerabilities in code, including the CVE lifecycle, coordinated disclosure, and patch releases.
- Kubernetes controller or operator development with controller-runtime, Kubebuilder, or client-go is an ideal background.
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification is a bonus.
- Early-stage organization experience and the ability to work autonomously are bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production features alongside the engineering team.
- Work on roadmap features when security work is not in the queue.
- Triage, prioritize, and fix security issues in code and dependencies through patched releases.
- Review security-sensitive designs early and threat-model new features.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Help engineers build secure defaults into the product.
