Requirements
- Have 2–5 years of software engineering experience.
- Have expertise in Go.
- Have experience with cloud computing environments, especially AWS or GCP.
- Be familiar with data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
- Have knowledge of data storage technologies such as Redis or MySQL.
- Have knowledge of Docker and container orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes.
- Have knowledge of Linux/Unix system internals.
- Have a track record of providing stable and secure code in production environments.
- Python experience is preferred.
- Experience building microservices and RESTful APIs is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Spinnaker is preferred.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain cloud services and workflows for Passport and Authentication systems.
- Develop and operate cloud-native services across AWS and GCP, including Kinesis, DynamoDB, and S3.
- Contribute to projects from design and implementation through rollout and operational support, primarily using Go and Python.
- Apply engineering patterns and improve service reliability, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Participate in technical discussions and evaluate tradeoffs involving reliability, latency, security, cost, complexity, and delivery timelines.
- Partner with software engineering, test engineering, research, and product teams to deliver and improve capabilities.
- Review code and designs, and contribute to team engineering practices through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Investigate production issues and improve monitoring, alerting, runbooks, deployments, and service quality.
- Use observability tools to understand system behavior, troubleshoot issues, and reduce recurring operational problems.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation, including helping cover after-hours alerts.
