Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; a science-related discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated career progression in business development and substantial experience supporting drug development-related services.
- 10+ years of combined business development experience representing drug development consulting services in the biopharmaceutical sector.
- Experience spanning drug development areas from preclinical development through Phase 4.
- Deep understanding of drug development processes and ability to engage credibly with C-suite and senior biopharmaceutical leaders.
- Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical landscape, including industry trends, market dynamics, opportunities, and challenges.
- Familiarity with Clinical Pharmacology and Model-Informed Drug Development, including PK/PD, QSP, PBPK, and MBMA, is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success pursuing business development opportunities across new and existing strategic markets and developing business plans.
- Leadership and project management capabilities, including prioritization, direction-setting, delegation, proactive communication, and driving initiatives across collaborative teams.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional commercialization teams and consider challenges from multiple functional perspectives.
- Extensive negotiation experience, including developing negotiation strategies, managing structured processes, and driving commercially sound outcomes.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, influencing, and executive presence skills, with credibility across functions, organizational levels, and geographies in a matrix environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue strategic opportunities with new clients and growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Conduct client discovery to understand business models, objectives, development programs, priorities, challenges, timelines, and financial considerations.
- Match qualified client needs with internal scientific and drug development experts and facilitate introductions to client teams.
- Lead client meetings and brief consulting resources and internal stakeholders on objectives, plans, priorities, and expected outcomes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams throughout engagements.
- Support and facilitate CDAs, MSAs, and related commercial arrangements, and negotiate terms based on client requirements and circumstances.
- Collaborate with project teams to support timely delivery and communicate issues, status updates, and resolutions.
- Coordinate project and commercial stakeholders, provide feedback, and inform senior management of progress, risks, opportunities, and key decisions.
- Maintain accurate opportunity and account information in Salesforce for visibility, forecasting, and account management.
