Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a personal injury law firm is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate familiarity with personal injury claims, medical records, insurance claims, discovery, litigation procedures, and case management.
- A bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Paralegal certification is a plus.
- Bring excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Manage multiple cases and assignments simultaneously.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, attorneys, and team members.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and legal case management software.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented legal environment while maintaining a commitment to client service.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and organize pleadings, discovery requests, motions, correspondence, and other case-related materials.
- Maintain active personal injury case files and keep documentation, records, and correspondence accurate and up to date.
- Assist attorneys with discovery by gathering medical records, bills, insurance information, evidence, and other case materials.
- Provide case updates to clients and respond to their inquiries as a liaison between clients and attorneys.
- Request, organize, review, and maintain medical records and billing documentation relevant to personal injury claims.
- Monitor case progress, follow up on outstanding documentation, and assist attorneys in moving cases through litigation.
- Track deadlines and manage calendars for hearings, depositions, mediations, meetings, and other case activities.
- Prepare exhibits, witness materials, trial binders, and other documents for hearings, mediations, and trial.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, reports, and other materials requested by attorneys.
- Provide administrative and substantive support to attorneys throughout personal injury cases.
