Requirements
- Have 5–7 years of experience in program management, grantmaking, or partnership development in climate, industry, or related fields.
- Have a strong understanding of industrial decarbonization, particularly in cement and building materials, and knowledge of the cement, concrete, and building industry.
- Have experience managing grants or working with nonprofits, foundations, or multilateral initiatives.
- Bring excellent written and oral communication skills, including writing for general audiences.
- Have research and analytical skills to identify and evaluate solutions and innovative ideas.
- Be able to initiate and manage projects and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Be able to work across global time zones, including frequent calls with California and regular calls with India, Africa, and Asia.
- Be available for approximately three to four international trips per year.
- A master's degree in engineering, policy, or another relevant field is preferred.
- Experience working in India, Africa, Southeast Asia, or other emerging markets is desired.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of grants, including scoping, assessment, structuring, and evaluation.
- Manage grantee relationships, understand grantee needs, support two-way information flow, and receive regular reports.
- Identify and assess opportunities across cement and building materials, particularly in emerging markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with grantees, re-grantors, funders, academic and industry experts, and other partners.
- Monitor innovations, decarbonization pathways, and policies, particularly in Africa, India, and Asia.
- Create knowledge exchange opportunities through webinars, meetings, blog posts, and other communications.
- Prepare proposals, documents, briefings, budgets, and communications materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with the Director of Cement & Building Materials to shape and execute strategy and grantmaking priorities.
- Support funder outreach, including attending meetings and writing proposals.
