Requirements

  • Have a track record of building or significantly improving delivery processes, such as intake, review, quality assurance, or approval workflows.
  • Have project management experience across design, communications, and/or digital or web projects; experience managing external agencies is preferred.
  • Show a genuine interest in FLI's mission and be able to represent its work credibly to agencies, judges, contest entrants, and partners.
  • Demonstrate strong quality judgment and confidence in sending back work that does not meet the required standard; a portfolio of quality-assured shipped work is desirable.
  • Remain calm under deadline pressure and be comfortable saying no and offering alternatives.
  • Experience running participatory or multi-stakeholder projects, such as contests, awards, grant rounds, or festivals, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with website delivery, CMS platforms, and enough technical literacy to triage issues and communicate with developers is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SEO and digital audience growth, including technical and on-page fundamentals, analytics tools such as GA4 and Search Console, and the effects of content and campaign decisions on reach, is preferred.
  • Nonprofit, policy, advocacy, or campaign experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable creative and technical briefs, and clarify or scope conflicting asks.
  • Define project success with internal and external stakeholders and incorporate goals into design and content strategies.
  • Develop and execute communications projects.
  • Identify project skill gaps and source, onboard, and manage agencies, contractors, and freelancers.
  • Review deliverables against briefs, brand guidelines, and WCAG accessibility standards; run structured review rounds and approve final work.
  • Ideate and develop digital products that support FLI's mission and organizational objectives.
  • Deliver multi-month initiatives, including international creative contests, end to end.
  • Work with the website development agency to maintain the design system and visual consistency across high-volume output.
