Requirements
- Have experience in Australia in commercial and residential work.
- Have previous experience in a similar estimator-drafter role.
- Be proficient with CAD systems such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, or Revit.
- Be proficient with estimating software such as CostX, Databuild, or Bluebeam.
- Be proficient in Word and Excel.
- Interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings.
- Have a civil, structural, or architectural engineering degree.
- Have strong mathematical aptitude to interpret blueprints and calculate angles, weights, and expenses.
- Be detail-oriented and able to provide detailed quotes covering materials, labor, and installation costs.
- Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Be flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications to calculate material quantities, equipment needs, and labor hours.
- Compile cost estimates and proposals for contracts and tenders.
- Ensure drawings and project estimates meet local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to update plans, correct discrepancies, and optimize costs.
- Create 2D or 3D technical drawings, blueprints, and working documents based on client needs and engineering requirements.
