6+ years building production web applications.
3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails in production.
Deep proficiency with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, performance).
Experience integrating modern front-end frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular with Rails back ends.
Strong API design and implementation skills (REST, JSON:API, OpenAPI).
Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
Practical experience with testing frameworks (RSpec, Capybara).
Proficiency with performance tooling, observability, and production debugging.
Fluency with modern developer tooling and workflows.
Ability to work independently with high agency and ownership.
Clear written communication skills for technical decisions and tradeoffs.
Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time.

Own features end-to-end from problem definition through design, implementation, rollout, and operation.
Build with leverage by using modern coding toolchains to compound output.
Reason about system data flow, failure modes, performance, and operational behavior.
Improve runtime systems, tooling, observability, and feedback loops.
Modernize and extend legacy services to ensure stability and scalability.
Design and shape durable REST, JSON:API, and OpenAPI contracts.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate ambiguity into shipped products.
Produce clear documentation including specs, ADRs, PR descriptions, and runbooks.
Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations.
