Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 8+ years of combined experience in revenue accounting, finance, or closely related functions.
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles, particularly ASC 606.
- Proven ability to research accounting literature and translate complex accounting issues into clear, practical conclusions.
- Experience working in high-tech, software, healthcare technology, or similarly data-intensive environments.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including experience working with large datasets and identifying trends using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy when working with financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across Finance, Revenue Cycle, Product, Technology, and other functions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for revenue accounting questions, analysis, and reporting across the organization.
- Manage revenue recognition activities for the consolidated business, including monthly revenue and implicit price concession entries and related general ledger reconciliations.
- Automate and improve reporting for revenue, accounts receivable, and implicit price concessions using tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
- Reconcile charges and collections between billing, electronic health record, accounting, and banking systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare technical accounting memoranda related to accounting guidance, policies, and non-standard transactions.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve revenue accounting processes, procedures, and controls.
- Review and interpret payer contracts to determine revenue recognition and accounting implications.
- Audit pay-rate data used in billing and revenue reporting to ensure alignment between commercial contracts, billing activity, and revenue recognition.
