- High proficiency in visual design to create polished, high-fidelity artifacts.
- Experience designing for real-world constraints, hardware contexts, and edge cases.
- Collaborative mindset with experience managing stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to design for speed, reliability, and reduced user friction.
- Experience using AI-first design approaches for conceptual prototyping.
- Portfolio submission required with application.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the end-to-end design process for Point of Sale experiences from discovery to execution.
- Translate complex operational workflows—such as ordering, payments, and splits—into intuitive, error-resistant experiences.
- Design for high-pressure, time-sensitive restaurant environments where user speed is critical.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Research to define and implement POS capabilities across terminal and handheld surfaces.
- Create high-fidelity artifacts that account for edge cases, hardware contexts, and various service styles.
- Utilize prototyping and storytelling to build alignment and communicate design trade-offs.
- Champion the server and front-of-house perspective to ensure design reliability and clarity.
- Integrate emerging AI-first tools and methods to accelerate design exploration and execution.
