Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or active CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close.
- Experience with multi-state and/or international tax compliance.
- Familiarity with equity administration platforms (e.g., Carta) and stock compensation accounting (ASC 718).
- Experience reviewing or managing the work of a junior team member or outsourced provider.
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or a similar general ledger system.
- Experience with modern fintech tools and payroll/PEO platforms.
- Proven track record of improving or modernizing accounting processes and systems.
- Excellent communication skills and proactive, detail-oriented problem-solving ability.
Responsibilities
- Manage weekly AR/AP aging reviews, vendor payment cadences, and cash controls.
- Oversee tax filings across federal, state, and international jurisdictions.
- Administer equity processes including 409A cadence, cap table reconciliation, and stock compensation.
- Execute a disciplined monthly close including revenue recognition and consolidated financial statements.
- Build and maintain a rolling multi-year forecast and lead budget-vs-actual reviews.
- Modernize accounting infrastructure, including chart of accounts and automation of expense processes.
- Supervise and review the work of a contracted junior accountant.
