Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or Associate's degree/equivalent experience in a related field.
- Recent college graduate with a passion for health, education, and service.
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, and creative mindset.
- Experience or interest in mentoring teens and cultivating relationships.
- Passion for addressing health disparities in community or educational settings.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-changing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle for frequent local travel.
- Ability to travel distances of up to 100 miles within the greater Charleston, West Virginia region.
- Availability for annual staff training and retreats 1–2 times per year.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with universities, schools, and community partners to deliver health and wellness programming at 10–20 school sites.
- Recruit, train, onboard, and oversee near-peer mentors for in-school program delivery.
- Research local health inequities and measure program impact through data tracking and reporting.
- Manage program logistics including mentor scheduling, supply procurement, and event coordination.
- Deliver health education programming directly, including teaching lessons and hosting educational events.
- Promote HealthCorps initiatives through social media platforms and stakeholder communications.
