Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong computing skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of advanced financial principles, budget management, and financial analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills for working with faculty and students.
- Ability to manage multiple complex activities in a time-sensitive environment.
- MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- CRA certification (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train research and financial administrators.
- Allocate workloads to maximize research administrator effectiveness.
- Assess performance and conduct staff reviews.
- Serve as a resource for interpreting policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Oversee pre- and post-award management for sponsored research grants and subcontracts.
- Develop and implement departmental financial policies and processes.
- Manage non-sponsored funding including gifts, endowments, and cost recovery centers.
- Prepare annual departmental budget in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Provide financial advice and planning support to faculty and academic staff.
