Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering.
- End-to-end ownership of a data warehouse or lakehouse architecture.
- Deep expertise in SQL and Python with production experience on modern cloud warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks).
- Hands-on experience building a semantic or metrics layer using dbt or equivalent tools.
- Production experience with orchestration (Airflow) and infrastructure as code (Terraform) on AWS.
- Experience designing and maintaining dimensional or Data Vault models.
- Proven data quality testing and observability experience (dbt tests, Great Expectations).
- Experience applying AI in data platforms (LLM classification, entity matching, anomaly detection, natural language querying).
- Experience working with regulated data such as healthcare or financial records.
- Familiarity with coding agents and AI tooling for daily development.
Responsibilities
- Own the target architecture for the warehouse and the curated layer.
- Design a semantic layer as a single metrics repository to ensure consistent definitions.
- Build configuration models for practice-specific business rules.
- Pair daily with data engineers to mentor and review work.
- Develop a gold layer and baseline report library for patient journey and practice growth.
- Extend infrastructure as code and CI processes across the warehouse.
- Automate migration processes, including profiling, schema mapping, and reconciliation.
- Implement AI-driven enrichment, anomaly detection, and automated metadata generation.
