Requirements
- Deep professional backend development experience using Go.
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining backend systems in distributed production environments.
- Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB (including data modeling and migrations).
- Proven track record of integrating third-party APIs with a focus on idempotency, retries, and consistency.
- Experience working in domains where correctness is critical, such as billing or payment systems.
- Solid understanding of common security vulnerabilities and best practices for payment data.
- Experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical work while maintaining a hands-on approach.
- Ability to communicate clearly and asynchronously across distributed teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and API integrations in Go that connect the platform to external billing systems.
- Lead the design and delivery of usage-based billing features, including usage aggregation, estimates, alerts, and invoicing.
- Shape the architecture of owned components, balancing short-term delivery with long-term reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed services and external APIs by addressing root causes.
- Identify and implement improvements in system reliability, security, observability, and internal processes.
- Contribute to anti-abuse measures and maintain strict security for sensitive customer and payment data.
- Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance.
