Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or similar commercial environment.
- Experience within scholarly publishing, higher education, edtech, or research services is ideal.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Strong relationship building experience with senior stakeholders in academia, libraries, and research.
- Experience leading complex B2B negotiations and institutional agreements.
- Strong understanding of the scholarly publishing and Open Access landscape.
- Experience with strategic account planning and consultative selling.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce for pipeline management.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25–50%.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Account Specialists.
- Execute and refine the North America sales strategy focused on strategic accounts and revenue growth.
- Identify new business opportunities and lead high-value institutional and consortia negotiations.
- Develop strategic relationships with universities, academic libraries, research organizations, and funders.
- Manage regional revenue targets, sales forecasting, pipeline, and progress reporting.
- Analyze market and competitive intelligence to inform strategic development.
- Collaborate with internal teams across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Publishing to maximize customer value.
