Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Civil, Process, Water Resources, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in technical sales, business development, applications engineering, or technical sales support.
  • Experience involving municipal wastewater process equipment, positive displacement pumps, grinders, or solids-handling technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships, prospect for new business, and secure meetings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of pumping systems, fluid dynamics, and wastewater processes.
  • Proficient and disciplined use of Microsoft Outlook Calendar and a CRM system (Salesforce preferred).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by automobile and commercial airline.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle while towing a demonstration trailer.
  • Ability and willingness to access municipal wastewater facilities and comply with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve annual bookings, revenue, and gross-margin objectives.
  • Proactively prospect for new business with wastewater treatment plants, utilities, contractors, and public works departments.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits with plant managers, operators, engineers, and purchasing representatives.
  • Develop productive relationships with consulting engineering firms to obtain product specifications.
  • Manage, develop, and hold channel partners accountable for territory coverage and sales objectives.
  • Maintain ownership and visibility of projects from planning and specification through order closure.
  • Conduct technical consultations, plant visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
