Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
- 3+ years at the Staff, Principal, or Architect level setting technical direction.
- 2+ years personally designing, building, and operating production LLM or AI-agent systems.
- Hands-on experience with RAG, vector infrastructure, and agent integration frameworks.
- Experience designing security and risk controls for AI in a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of PHI and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Proven experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships.
- Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, roadmap, reference architecture, and day-to-day operation of the enterprise AI platform.
- Design and maintain development, testing, and production environments, deployment pipelines, and reusable platform components.
- Build connectors and integration scaffolding across enterprise systems such as EHR, CRM, ticketing, and data warehouses.
- Implement agent orchestration, RAG, vector infrastructure, and integration frameworks.
- Establish and enforce AI engineering standards, governance practices, and security controls for sensitive PHI/HIPAA data.
- Define observability, reliability, and incident-response practices for production systems.
- Manage the AI platform budget, vendor relationships, and cloud/model spend.
