Requirements
- Valid NYS LPN license.
- Experience in working with mentally ill chemically dependent adults.
- Basic computer literacy.
- CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
- Ability to work under stress.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and health care professionals.
- Flexibility and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial health and ongoing clinical assessments.
- Oversee administration of medications and monitor adherence.
- Coordinate medical treatment and follow-up with community medical providers.
- Work closely with consulting psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioner.
- Ensure seamless procurement of prescription medication from partnering pharmacies.
- Maintain records as per state and agency regulations.
- Provide training for program staff.
- Meet with directors and program staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed.
