Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Analytics, Business, or Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in data management, analytics, BI, or architecture.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing teams or cross-functional programs.
- Experience in aviation, defense, MRO, or a highly regulated, asset-intensive industry.
- Proven experience with complex ERP or MRO data and reporting.
- Strong technical knowledge of SQL, APIs, ETL/ELT, metadata, and master data management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and BI tools like Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with aviation maintenance, supply-chain data, and regulatory bodies like Transport Canada, FAA, or EASA.
- Working knowledge of data security, privacy, residency, ITAR/EAR, and NIST SP 800-171.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Level II Canadian government security clearance and Controlled Goods Program eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement a multi-year enterprise data and BI strategy aligned with operational requirements.
- Establish a data operating model including governance, architecture standards, and clear decision rights.
- Improve data quality and establish authoritative sources for critical operational domains.
- Define enterprise architecture for data ingestion, integration, warehousing, and semantic modeling.
- Modernize integration patterns for ERP, MRO, and financial systems using APIs and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strengthen integrity of aviation-specific data like aircraft configuration, maintenance plans, and inventory.
- Develop performance intelligence dashboards for fleet readiness, safety, and financial metrics.
- Govern AI initiatives including predictive maintenance and demand forecasting.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across data governance, engineering, and BI.
