- 1+ year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active State of Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician license.
- PTCB or NHA national certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to navigate internet and web-based platforms.
- Commitment to obtaining additional credentials within an agreed-upon timeframe if required.
Responsibilities
- Communicate directly with insurance companies to facilitate medication approvals.
- Assist patients with managing their pharmacy insurance claims.
- Work with clinician offices to support prior authorization requests and medication access.
- Research and secure financial assistance through foundations, manufacturers, and funding sources.
- Navigate pharmacy operating systems to input data, adjudicate test claims, and process refills.
- Communicate directly with patients to support medication adherence and compliance.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient concerns, prior authorization status, and financial assistance needs in electronic medical records.
