Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of medical insurance experience, preferably at a medical company.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred).
- Specific knowledge of health insurance plans, benefit interpretation, and prior authorization protocol.
- General knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) coverage landscape.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, specifically Salesforce.
- Experience using payor websites such as NaviNet and Availity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Verify active health insurance coverage via phone calls with payor representatives.
- Utilize payor websites like Availity and NaviNet to confirm eligibility and submit prior authorizations.
- Document all interactions and calls into the CRM system according to HIPAA and Quality Assurance standards.
- Perform data entry of new patient referrals into the CRM.
- Contact new patient referrals to confirm insurance information.
- Collaborate with Sales Support Representatives to transfer data for efficient sale completion.
- Provide telephone and department support and other clerical duties as assigned.
