Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineers, including performance management.
- Strong background in building and operating production backend and data-intensive systems.
- Experience with Python and Django.
- Proficiency with data stacks including Snowflake, dbt, and Dagster.
- Strong grasp of system design, architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a servant-leadership mindset.
- Confidence in challenging product direction and validating solutions.
- Fluent in English.
- Based in a European time zone (UTC+0 to UTC+2).
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing team focused on pricing algorithms, forecasting, and data pipelines.
- Manage team performance through 1:1s, feedback, career development, hiring, and onboarding.
- Partner closely with Product Managers to shape product direction and drive measurable engineering outcomes.
- Balance delivery velocity with long-term technical sustainability and architectural quality.
- Provide technical oversight through design and code review while remaining hands-on when necessary.
- Lead department-level initiatives for engineering processes and operational excellence.
