Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, humanities, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in fundraising, development, or major gifts.
- Demonstrated ability to perform identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
- Experience in a higher education setting (preferred).
- Proficiency with fundraising and donor management software (desired).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel locally, regionally, and occasionally nationally.
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via video conferencing.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects with a focus on $50,000+ donations.
- Manage an active portfolio of 75-100 donors and prospective donors.
- Conduct over 150 personal visits annually with donors and advisors.
- Collaborate with campus leadership, including the President, Provost, and Deans, to strengthen donor connections.
- Partner with internal departments such as donor relations, planned giving, and the Alumni Association to execute regional events.
- Report and track fundraising progress using established contact and prospect management systems.
- Develop and manage an annual travel budget for the region.
