Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; a life sciences field is preferred.
- Typically 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years with a Master’s, or 7+ years with a PhD.
- Relevant experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare settings, case management, or social work.
- At least 3 years of experience in a patient support program, integrated healthcare provider environment, or managed care setting.
- Strong knowledge of government and commercial payers and complex insurance environments.
- Proven ability to build trust with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Experience with field-based patient engagement using approved materials and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to explain complex healthcare and treatment topics clearly.
- Experience developing and delivering patient education programs.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Spanish-language proficiency is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key regional point of contact for an ultra-rare disease patient support program, engaging patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to support therapy initiation and adherence.
- Educate patients and healthcare professionals on disease state, insurance navigation, and infusion logistics.
- Partner with treatment centers and payers to resolve coverage and access barriers.
- Connect patients with financial assistance programs and support resources.
- Represent the program at advocacy events and facilitate educational initiatives.
- Monitor operations and support the development of patient engagement and case management processes.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to align program execution with strategy.
