Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Associates degree or higher preferred).
- 1-3 years of hospital registration and/or insurance experience desirable.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- General knowledge of healthcare terminology and CPT-ICD10 codes.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Zoom.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personal and health information.
- Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment.
- Experience with Epic (specifically ADT, Prelude, Grand Centrale) is preferred.
- Strong decision-making and judgment capabilities with attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Monitor registration, referral, and prior authorization work queues to obtain necessary financial clearance elements.
- Navigate BMC and payer policies to secure required authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals for scheduled care.
- Document referral and prior authorization information in Epic for scheduled services.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties including patients, primary care physicians, and insurance carriers to resolve clearance issues.
- Conduct patient interviews via telephone to collect financial and demographic information for registration.
- Review registration and insurance information in systems and reconcile with carrier records.
- Process patient copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles for scheduled visits.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive health and financial information in compliance with regulations.
