Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience within a mainframe environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of z/OS installation and maintenance, including SMP/E.
- Proficiency in TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and JCL.
- Strong knowledge of Unix System Services (USS) file system management and security.
- Understanding of z/OS security, services structure, Parallel Sysplex, and Catalog management.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery processes and database logical/physical design.
- Ability to perform moderately complex ISV installations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and remain stress-resistant in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, test, configure, and implement all ISV software.
- Monitor systems and provide on-call support for software and incident resolution.
- Perform incident, change, and problem handling within a z/OS environment.
- Conduct database maintenance activities including reorgs, runstats, and monitoring scheduled tasks.
- Manage database space, purge obsolete data, and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Refresh Dev/Test databases using production backup images.
- Communicate and coordinate with software vendors.
- Participate in technical projects and provide technical support to team members.
