Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, MD, or PhD preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in business development within biotech or life sciences.
- Strong focus on technology licensing, research collaborations, and strategic transactions.
- Deep understanding of scientific, clinical, and regulatory dynamics in therapeutic development.
- Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex transactions.
- Strong strategic judgment and financial and transactional acumen.
- Ability to synthesize complex scientific, clinical, and financial information for senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with executive-level visibility and manage confidential processes.
- Strong cross-functional instincts and ability to build alignment across diverse teams.
- Ability to travel periodically for team and company events.
Responsibilities
- Lead or play a central role in all business development activities, including in-licensing, out-licensing, co-development, and research collaborations.
- Coordinate cross-functional diligence processes across R&D, clinical, regulatory, legal, IP, finance, and commercial teams.
- Develop business cases, valuation frameworks, and competitive assessments to support internal decision-making.
- Structure, negotiate, and finalize term sheets and definitive agreements in collaboration with leadership.
- Support the preparation of recommendations and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Build and maintain relationships with biotechnology peers, pharmaceutical companies, and academic institutions.
- Support alliance transition and post-signing governance for strategic collaborations.
