Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Team Lead.
- Proven track record of driving projects to completion.
- Strong technical background sufficient to review designs and code.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Proficiency with GitHub for management and collaboration.
- Solid understanding of software security principles.
- Ability to give direct, timely feedback in an async-first, remote environment.
- Experience with open-source software development and community engagement is a plus.
- Networking industry experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python, Django, Go, gRPC, or OpenTelemetry is a plus.
- Knowledge of AWS or Azure is a plus.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead a squad of engineers day-to-day while staying hands-on with code reviews and design discussions.
- Drive project execution, break down ambiguous problems, and set sprint goals.
- Own the software development lifecycle from planning through release.
- Run sprint planning, stand-ups, and retros using GitHub.
- Champion secure software development practices.
- Partner with product managers to translate requirements into shippable plans.
- Coach and mentor engineers to support technical growth.
- Act as a liaison between the team and the open-source community.
