Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in mineral exploration, mining, oil and gas, or a related industry.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methodology (tracks, pads, access roads) for North American operating environments.
- Advanced understanding of helicopter-supported exploration, including logistics and emergency response.
- Demonstrated expertise in procurement, RFP development, bid evaluation, and contract administration.
- Strong understanding of reclamation, rehabilitation, and closure planning.
- Proven experience with HSE, land and permitting, legal, and business development systems for exploration.
- Ability to manage and supervise staff and contractors in complex, high-risk field programs.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Valid First Aid Certification (Level 3 or Wilderness First Aid preferred).
- Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of project management principles.
Responsibilities
- Plan complex exploration projects and moderate-scale development programs in North America, including drilling campaigns, electromagnetic surveys, and reconnaissance programs.
- Manage 1–3 concurrent projects of varying size, complexity, and jurisdiction.
- Oversee procurement strategies, including contractor selection, bid evaluation, benchmarking, and contract administration.
- Develop project-level risk and hazard identification, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Direct all field activities and contractor performance evaluations from mobilization through to closure.
- Lead site remediation and rehabilitation activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including communities, landowners, and Indigenous groups.
