Requirements
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Current admission to the Bar in good standing.
- Minimum 8 years of professional legal experience.
- Minimum 5 years of specialized experience in data privacy, security, data breach, and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of relevant privacy laws (HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR, etc.).
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Lexis and Westlaw.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience as a team player.
- Technical or IT background is a plus.
- Prior litigation experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead incident response efforts for cybersecurity and data privacy breaches.
- Manage communications with clients, insurance carriers, and technical personnel.
- Oversee breach response work performed by associates and junior team members.
- Analyze state, federal, and international privacy laws to advise clients on notification obligations.
- Draft legal notices, privacy policies, and security procedures complying with statutes such as HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA, and GDPR.
- Defend against privacy lawsuits and respond to regulatory investigations.
- Direct forensics investigations and coordinate with third-party vendors for e-Discovery and data mining.
- Prepare legal budgets and reports for clients and insurance carriers.
