Requirements
- 8+ years of QA experience, including hands-on work with production billing, rating, or payments systems.
- Working knowledge of rating and usage billing (rate decks, prefix matching, billing increments, destination zones).
- Subscription billing experience (recurring/non-recurring charges, proration, upgrades, trials, discounts).
- Invoicing experience (generation, line-item totals, usage detail, credit memos, dunning).
- Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions) for usage/invoice reconciliation.
- Precision and rounding literacy (decimal vs. floating-point, rounding modes).
- Proven experience leading or mentoring QA engineers.
- Track record of pushing back on untestable requirements and negotiating scope using data.
- Proficiency with a formal Test Management System (TMS) and Jira.
- Professional English proficiency (spoken and written).
Responsibilities
- Act as an active member of a Scrum team, participating fully in all agile ceremonies.
- Own the test strategy for billing, covering rating, mediation, invoicing, taxation, payments, credits, adjustments, dunning, and reseller billing hierarchies.
- Design and document test coverage for month-end billing cycles, including cutoff, timezone boundaries, reruns, and retry safety.
- Perform revenue-assurance testing by reconciling CDR volumes against invoiced amounts.
- Trace billing discrepancies to their root cause, distinguishing rating-engine, mediation, or switch-side issues.
- Enforce the requirement intake gate to ensure testable acceptance criteria before sprints.
- Set and enforce documentation standards for requirement-to-test-case traceability.
- Drive the automation roadmap by deciding on priorities and conducting code/test reviews.
- Establish and report billing quality metrics such as defect escape rate and release readiness.
- Mentor billing QA engineers and provide clear technical direction.
