Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Substantial experience building and operating backend services in production.
- Experience with queues, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems (retries, concurrency).
- Ability to design systems from scratch and think through deployment rollouts.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and service operations (observability, capacity, debugging).
- Experience designing APIs and relational data models.
- Experience managing production infrastructure with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform or AWS CDK).
- Comfortable working across the stack to deliver a complete product experience.
- Clear communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Ability to consistently work with overlap during Americas working hours.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end, from proposing ideas and scoping to building APIs and dashboard experiences.
- Build reliable distributed systems, including queues and background workers to handle traffic spikes.
- Scale APIs and databases by improving performance, data integrity, and efficiency.
- Operate infrastructure with monitoring, safe deployments, and participation in an on-call rotation.
- Collaborate with support and customers to identify product improvements.
- Improve engineering quality through testing, tooling, and system enhancements.
