Requirements
- JD from a top law school.
- Active member of the NY State Bar in good standing.
- 5+ years of experience with a primary background in commercial or technology transactions.
- Secondary experience in privacy law.
- Proven ability to build relationships with internal teams, clients, and outside counsel.
- Expertise in negotiating, drafting, and modifying strategic commercial agreements.
- Practical, solution-oriented approach to business challenges.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Ability to operate and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
- Exceptional judgment and ability to work independently in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and guidance on corporate governance, contractual matters, and regulatory compliance.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and legal documents with clients, vendors, and internal parties.
- Assist with corporate transactions, including fundraising, M&A, and strategic partnerships.
- Counsel the product team on data privacy, terms and conditions, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee corporate governance matters, including board/shareholder documentation and equity compensation.
- Manage outside counsel on specialized legal matters such as IP and HR.
- Draft and maintain template agreements, security policies, and corporate procedures.
- Advise on employment matters and maintain organized legal records.
