Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical patient access or billing office knowledge.
  • Minimum of two years of phone experience with customers.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health environment preferred.
  • Two years of experience in health care working with client benefit coverage and/or claims preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Office programs.
  • Ability to run data reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Handle heavy inbound and outbound phone calls regarding client accounts.
  • Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and active listening in all client communications.
  • Develop financial plans and monitor compliance for client accounts in accordance with financial policies.
  • Review applications for financial assistance and allocate funding to approved recipients.
  • Collaborate with admission coordinators to address client questions prior to admission.
  • Resolve delinquent accounts and manage tasks including return mail, COB denials, faxes, emails, and disputes.
  • Proactively identify and escalate account problems to the Team Lead.
