Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial property underwriting E&S experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a growing, ever-changing organization.
- Strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization.
- Understanding of habitational P&C policies (preferred).
- Property and Casualty insurance license (preferred; 6 months preparation time permitted).
- Eager for continual learning (professional designations are a plus).
- Ability to travel from time to time for team and broker meetings.
Responsibilities
- Manage new business accounts through outbound interaction with various carriers and brokers.
- Collaborate effectively with internal sales staff on new business submissions.
- Underwrite habitational risks by identifying and analyzing risk exposures, loss frequency, and severity.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers to deliver exceptional service.
- Provide solutions for inquiries from brokers and team members.
- Adhere to rating rules with proper file documentation.
- Navigate an online broker portal to complete tasks and troubleshoot issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve underwriting efficiencies and maintain profitability.
