Requirements
- 14+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or related industry.
- 10+ years of dedicated alliance-management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in drug development and participation in development and life-cycle-management project teams.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, MS, MBA, or MD is desirable.
- Strong ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve complex partnership and project issues.
- Excellent project-management capabilities, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to coordinate diverse internal and external stakeholders, reconcile competing demands, and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Strong strategic, analytical, financial, and business judgment.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-management skills, including for senior executive interaction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead global strategic alliances, ensuring key partnership objectives are achieved while maintaining productive, long-term relationships.
- Oversee the execution of partnership agreements, including governance committees, working groups, agendas, meetings, deliverables, and cross-functional preparation.
- Partner with external organizations to establish alliance direction, scope, responsibilities, timelines, and implementation plans.
- Maintain regular communication with alliance-management counterparts and key partner stakeholders, coordinating cross-functional activities as needed.
- Identify, assess, and proactively address legal, business, operational, and relationship risks across alliances.
- Conduct regular alliance health checks and audits to assess performance, identify issues, and protect partnership value.
- Coordinate internally with Business Development, Legal, Finance, Clinical Development, Commercial, and other functions to manage contractual commitments, milestones, financial transactions, and reporting.
- Monitor research, development, and commercialization plans and take appropriate action to support successful execution.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, communicate critical alliance developments, and drive alignment around key value inflection points.
- Lead or contribute to contract renegotiations and new partnership negotiations, including recommendations regarding governance structures and execution terms.
