Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience with object-oriented programming (PHP, Java, Node.js, Golang, or JavaScript).
- Strong hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and supporting WordPress-based applications.
- Experience managing and optimizing high-traffic WordPress websites.
- Three (3) years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, with React preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience testing, maintaining, and launching software products.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns, application architecture).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Strong understanding of application and data security.
- Experience performing root cause analysis across applications and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of high-traffic WordPress properties, managing and evolving applications, integrations, and architecture.
- Design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale WordPress applications, including custom themes, plugins, and performance improvements.
- Provide technical direction and leadership across assigned properties, including prioritizing improvements and leading design reviews.
- Ensure the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of consumer-facing websites.
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to build and deliver customer-centric technical solutions.
- Apply DevOps practices to support efficient development, deployment, and operation of applications.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and participate in the hiring process.
