Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience, including significant time in customer-facing or deployed settings.
- Strong hands-on data fluency including SQL and scripting against APIs.
- Comfort working in notebooks and independently interrogating data sets.
- Experience prototyping to validate ideas quickly using tools like Cursor, Replit, or V0.dev.
- Track record building structured data models, taxonomies, or classification schemes for production systems.
- Strong judgment regarding data quality and the cost of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive-level interaction.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and company events up to 30% of the time.
- Background in residential construction, homebuilding, architecture, or AEC technology is a plus.
- Familiarity with agent-based or natural-language search, RAG systems, or LLM-powered analytics.
- Exposure to geometric or spatial data such as CAD/BIM or computer vision.
Responsibilities
- Embed with HQ, regional, and division teams to run technical discovery, profile plan assets, assess data quality, and reverse-engineer drawing sets.
- Build and ship the searchable plan library, analytics dashboard, and agent-enabled natural-language search.
- Tune and extend Autotranslate AI capabilities to identify, categorize, and translate floorplans into structured data.
- Write ETL pipelines, build against internal APIs, and ship working capability directly to users.
- Develop geometric similarity scoring and classification models for plan identification.
- Meet delivery milestones and flag tradeoffs between quality and schedule pressure.
- Instrument and quantify results regarding redundancy, dimensional spread, and consolidation opportunities.
- Partner with product, technical, and client strategy teams to present progress and tradeoffs to executives.
- Turn one-off scripts and data patterns into reusable tooling for future engagements.
