Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Understanding of subrogation principles and health/P&C insurance
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to evaluate complex claims, apply judgment, and negotiate recoveries or settlements with limited supervision
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience interpreting claims, insurance information, account data, plan provisions, or supporting documentation
- Customer service or stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to change
- Prior experience in insurance, claims, subrogation, recovery, collections, legal services, healthcare reimbursement, or payment integrity (preferred)
- Knowledge of applicable insurance laws, regulations, contracts, or plan provisions (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate healthcare subrogation matters
- Understand and apply Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, and related laws
- Research and interpret laws and regulations
- Conduct outbound calls and communicate with attorneys and insurers
- Document communications and maintain case activity records
- Ensure HIPAA compliance
- Participate in case reviews and strategy discussions
- Mentor other team members in subrogation skills
