Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial production-level backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong domain expertise in payment billing, recurring rebills, retries, and chargebacks.
- Experience integrating at least one PSP (Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Solid or similar).
- Expertise in designing services from scratch including data models, idempotency, queues, and webhooks.
- Hands-on experience with external API integrations, including error handling and monitoring.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for coding, code reviews, and data analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a professional business context.
- Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Argo CD (plus).
- Experience with payment orchestrators like Primer or Spreedly (plus).
- Experience with React/Next.js for internal tooling (plus).
Responsibilities
- Integrate payment orchestrators or billing providers and configure regional payment methods.
- Design a custom subscription module handling billing states, retries, and provider reconciliations.
- Implement A/B testing for payment flows across different countries and methods.
- Decouple the payment module from the existing monolith into a standalone service.
- Build a payment dashboard and data pipelines into BigQuery with automated alerting.
- Exercise technical ownership by identifying risks and shaping the product backlog.
