Requirements
- Expert-level experience in software and data engineering for large-scale platforms.
- Deep experience building petabyte-scale systems using Scala, Java, or Kotlin and Apache Spark.
- Strong expertise in AWS data services (Glue, S3, Athena, Managed Airflow, Iceberg).
- Advanced understanding of distributed systems, parallel processing, and data storage optimization.
- Extensive AWS cloud experience.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and code review capabilities.
- Proven experience driving technical strategy and architecture.
- Hands-on experience in agile environments across multiple engineering teams.
- Strong version control skills (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced English proficiency for international technical communication.
- Availability to travel to São Carlos, São Paulo, when required.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve a petabyte-scale AWS data platform using advanced software engineering and cloud-native practices.
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines leveraging JVM-based languages and Apache Spark.
- Act as a technical leader by mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and establishing engineering best practices.
- Partner with architects and product owners to define long-term platform strategy and architectural design.
- Plan and execute complex technical initiatives within agile value-stream teams.
- Maintain operational readiness through monitoring, testing, and production deployment processes.
- Integrate modern technologies including GraphQL, vector databases, and AI/LLM techniques.
