Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience developing adolescent literacy curriculum or reading intervention solutions.
- Experience designing teacher-led and student-facing experiences for grades 3–12 in print and digital formats.
- Deep knowledge of adolescent literacy development and instructional needs for below-grade-level readers.
- Strong understanding of science-of-reading research and its application.
- Significant experience designing explicit, scaffolded instruction and intervention.
- Exceptional instructional writing and editing skills.
- Experience leading complex instructional projects.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor or guide curriculum developers or designers.
- Ability to collaborate with product managers, designers, researchers, and engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in literacy, reading education, instructional design, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Partner with content and product leadership to define and develop evidence-based adolescent literacy instruction.
- Apply science of reading research to instructional and product decisions.
- Design cohesive teacher-led and adaptive student experiences.
- Ensure instructional approaches address the needs of diverse adolescent learners.
- Develop instructional models, lesson architectures, and design standards.
- Write, edit, and revise lessons and instructional resources.
- Lead the selection and development of student-facing texts and multimedia.
- Mentor and guide Learning Experience Designers.
- Lead instructional reviews and resolve complex design challenges.
