Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree is an asset.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or eligibility for registration.
- Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience with project coordination or management duties.
- Strong experience in structural steel design, fabrication, detailing, erection, and construction processes.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian building codes and structural design standards.
- Experience with AISC standards and U.S. structural steel projects is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
- Strong understanding of constructability and commercial project awareness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with Tekla Structural Designer, Excel, IDEA StatiCa, Bluebeam, RISA Suite, Revit, or RAM Connection is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering projects from kickoff through design, coordination, delivery, and final closeout.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, engineering hours, resources, and risks.
- Design, analyze, review, and provide technical oversight for structural systems to ensure compliance with codes and quality requirements.
- Review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and other technical deliverables.
- Lead communication with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and erectors.
- Coordinate structural engineering requirements across the project lifecycle.
- Manage RFIs, design revisions, scope changes, and change orders.
- Lead project meetings and report status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.
- Support business development including proposals, fee estimates, and resource planning.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
